We love famous home chef Ina Garten around here and one of our favorite holiday season recipes is her Mulled Wine, but we use our special recipe Mulling Spice in it as well!
Simple to make and a definite crowd pleaser that will warm up your guest’s bellies and their souls this holiday season.
MULLED WINE
4 cups apple cider
1 (750-ml) bottle red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup to 1 cup of Olde Town Spice Shoppe Mulling Spice Mix
4 oranges, peeled, for garnish
Cinnamon Sticks and or Star Anise pieces for garnish
Combine the cider, wine, honey, and place your Mulling Spice Mix in a spice bag or large tea ball in a large saucepan, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Pour into mugs, add an orange peel to each and serve. And a cinnamon stick for garnish too!
OPTION: you can eliminate the wine and just use equal parts apple cider too!
