Heat 6 cups water in a saucepan till it boils. Remove from the heat.
Add 3/4 cups white granulated sugar and stir till dissolved.
Add 1/2 cup loose tea (Orange Pekoe) or 5 teabags and let steep for 10 minutes. Remove the tea from the pan and add to gallon jar. Fill up the remaining room in the jar with cold water.
Put in refrigerator to continue cooling.
