Two of our favorite spice blends that are very similar but very different: Apple Pie Spice and Pumpkin Pie Spice!
And one of the top asked questions from customers is “What Is the Difference Between Apple Pie Spice and Pumpkin Spice?” It comes down to Nutmeg (Apple Pie Spice) or Cloves (Pumpkin Pie Spice) … Both blends typically contain cinnamon as the star flavor, allspice, sometimes a hint of ginger & cardamom, but each one also has a prominent co-star flavor. Apple Pie Spice also features nutmeg and Pumpkin Pie Spice features Cloves.
Most loved and used in desserts especially with fall fruits and baked goods but there are many other ways to enjoy either of these delicious spice blends.
COFFEE
Make your own fall flavor coffee each morning by simply adding 1 to 2 tsp of either Apple Pie Spice or Pumpkin Pie Spice to your coffee grounds in the filter and then brew. Cinnamon does not dissolve so placing it in the filter with the coffee with keep the grainy bits out of your cup. You can also stir it in to your morning oatmeal, sprinkle on pancakes and waffles and more!
PORK
Both of these spices work deliciously used on pork dishes! You can add a little black pepper and salt and rub in your tenderloins or sprinkle on your chops before grilling, pan searing, oven roasted or crockpotting. And also add in some onion and even apple slices to your pork when cooking for an extra burst of flavor!
