Air Fryer Tips

air fryer simply recipesAir Fryers are all the rage and there are many good reasons! It’s quick to use and less messy and it is a healthier way of cooking while still feeling like your getting that “unhealthy” crispy crunchiness that comes with conventional fryers.

Here are a few tips for getting the most out of Air Fryer cooking:

  1. Preheat your Air Fryer at least a few minutes to get optimum cooking results. (but always refer first to your Air Fryer’s instruction manual)
  2. Use oils on your foods, healthier ones, for a more crispy result. But sometimes fatty cuts of meat won’t require it.
  3. Oil your basket BUT not with a store-bought aerosol can spray oils! These spray can oils have a chemical in them that is too harsh for your Air Fryer’s basket. Simple rub or brush on some oil to your basket or you can you a refillable oil mister too
  4. Don’t overcrowd your basket. Your food needs room around it to get the best crispy results.
  5. Shake the basket during cooking on smaller items and flip larger ones to get the best crispy results.
  6. Water or bread in the bottom stops the white smoke. If you’re cooking greasy food in your air fryer, don’t be surprised if you see some white smoke shooting out the unit. To solve it, just pour a little (around 2Tbsp) of water in the bottom of the basket. It will stop the smoke and your food will continue to cook. Some people place a slice of bread in the bottom of the unit to soak up any grease when preparing items that may sputter a lot of greases, like bacon.
  7. Season with flavor before you cook! See our list below of some of our customer’s favorite choices for seasoning their Air Fryer cooking.
