Description
Thompson’s Farm Hearty Bean Soup is a great soup full of flavor! Follow the included recipe or use as a base for your favorite bean chili. This soup can be made in the slow cooker or on the stove top. Add 1 ham hock (or 1/2 pound of lean diced ham), 1 16oz can crushed tomatoes, 3 tbs. lemon juice, and 8 cups of water. Rinse the beans. Cover with water and soak overnight. Drain beans, add water and meat. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add seasoning packet, tomatoes, lemon juice and simmer 30 minutes or until beans are tender.
