Meta Data Sharing

Sharing of Personal Information with Meta. We may share certain personal information and information about your interactions with our online store with Meta Platforms, Inc. and its affiliates (“Meta”), including in connection with our use of Meta’s business, advertising, analytics, measurement, and social-commerce tools, including but not limited to tools made available through Facebook and Instagram. Such tools may be integrated with our Shopify store and may include the Meta Pixel, Conversions API, and other current or future Meta technologies.

The information shared with Meta may vary depending on the data-sharing settings and features we use from time to time. These settings may include different levels of data sharing, including a Maximum level of data sharing where available. To the extent permitted by applicable law and consistent with the settings we have selected, the information shared may include, without limitation, the personal information defined herein.

Conversions API and Meta Pixel. Depending on the data-sharing level and tools we use, we may transmit certain events and information directly from our servers to Meta using the Conversions API, in addition to or instead of transmitting information through browser-based technologies such as the Meta Pixel. For example, the Conversions API may transmit purchase or other conversion events from Shopify or our systems to Meta’s servers. Because server-to-server transmissions do not depend solely on browser-based scripts, certain Conversions API events may not be prevented by browser-based ad blockers in the same manner as browser-based tracking technologies. Customers can disconnect this data from their Facebook account by changing their settings for Off-Facebook Activity

Purpose of Sharing. We may use the Meta tools and share information with Meta to help us measure and understand the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing; attribute purchases and other actions to advertising campaigns; improve and personalize advertising; create or improve audiences; identify or reach individuals or groups who may be interested in our products or services; measure conversions; analyze customer and website activity; improve our online store and marketing activities, etc.

Matching and Advertising. When a higher level of data sharing is enabled, including a Maximum level where available, information such as your name, email address, telephone number, address/location, and online-store activity may be used to help Meta match information we provide with information maintained by Meta and identify whether you are a member of a relevant Meta audience. This may allow us to: measure advertising performance, create or improve advertising audiences, and deliver or optimize advertisements on Meta services, including but not limited to Facebook and Instagram. Meta may also use information received through its business tools in accordance with its own policies and applicable law.

Updates to Meta Technologies. The specific Meta tools, technologies, data-sharing mechanisms, and information transmitted may change over time as Shopify, Meta, and their respective services and technologies are updated. Accordingly, our use of Meta tools may include but not limited to newer versions, successor technologies, or additional Meta advertising, analytics, measurement, or conversion technologies that perform functions similar to those described above.

Privacy and Data-Use Practices. We seek to configure and use Meta’s business tools in accordance with applicable law and Meta’s applicable requirements and best practices concerning privacy and data use. However, Meta independently determines how it processes information it receives through its services. For more information about how Meta collects, uses, and processes information, please review Meta’s applicable privacy and data-use disclosures. Depending on where you reside, you may have the right to opt out of certain disclosures or uses of your personal information for targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, or certain sales or sharing of personal information. If you have any questions or comments regarding our sharing of information with Meta, please contact us using the methods described in the Contact Us section of this Privacy Policy.
